DAY TRIP TO OURIKA VALLEY

This Ourika Valley day trip from Marrakech makes for a perfect refreshing escape from Marrakech’s summer heat. This popular destination is a group of villages located around the Ourika River and the valley under the same name. Ourika is known for its green landscape and cool atmosphere because of being a part of the great High Atlas Mountains. The valley itself is about 30 kilometers away from the busy Marrakech, and the drive there is almost as interesting as the location itself. We will get there after riding in our comfortable air-conditioned car following a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains landscape.

Our Ourika Valley day trip starts when we reach the area. We will find many restaurants and cafes around the site that you can choose from. Most of those are set up by locals and will offer you delicious traditional meals such as the Moroccan Tagine and Berber omelet. After that, we can drive even further up the valley to reach the famous Setti Fatma source, which is special for its seven fresh waterfalls, where you can enjoy the view while sipping on a cup of mint tea.

In addition to all of this, the Ourika Valley is surrounded by hiking tracks where you can walk around the nearby forest and plantations. You will see all sorts of trees and fruits planted there, which adds a lively and colorful touch to the entire site.
