From Marrakech
Our 2 days trip from Marrakech to Zagora will start after we pick you up in the morning from your accommodation, and start driving through the High Atlas Mountains. We will get many chances to sop along the way and enjoy the scenic views over the small and scattered Berber villages of the area.
We will also meet many interesting Kasbahs and other traditional forms of architecture unique to the south of Morocco. After a while, we will reach the famous Todra gorges. This site, where we will also have lunch, is known for its 300 meters high gorges that attract people from all over the world. We can hike around the valley or simply walk along the Todra River, the experience will be just as interesting regardless. Later on, we will continue driving towards Zagora and Erg Chigaga dunes which we will reach after a short drive through Morocco’s gorgeous landscape.
Once at Zagora, we will be welcomed with some traditional mint tea and get to rest at our hotel.
Finally, our camel caravan will be waiting for us, which we will ride through the sunset and head to the desert camp where we will be spending the night. You will enjoy a cozy atmosphere around a campfire and under the starry night sky, followed by a mouth-watering dinner before sleeping in your tent.
This next morning, we will all wake up in time to admire the sun rising and casting her beautiful colors on the desert dunes, then we will return to Zagora riding our camels once more. You can shower and have breakfast at the hotel, before we start driving to our final destination: Fes.
We will first cross the magnificent Ziz valley and admire its gorges, before entering the Middle Atlas Mountains and driving through the Tizin Tlghamt pass. After that, we will continue driving to Fez, with occasional stops to enjoy special views, such as the wild Macaque monkeys at the Azrou Cedar forests. Once we arrive at Fes, we will drop you off at your preferred accommodation to end our 2 days trip from Marrakech to Zagora.
Day 1 (Marrakech to Merzouga): Approximately 9 to 10 hours of driving, not including stops. Day 2 (Merzouga to Fes): Approximately 8 to 9 hours of driving, including stops at the Ziz Valley and Cedar Forest.
