DAY 1: TANGER “ARRIVAL” / MEKNES

To begin our Tangier desert tour, your personal driver will come pick you up from the airport to start your journey through the wonders of Morocco. Our first destination today will be the imperial city Meknes, but on our way there we will stop at Volubilis town. Volubilis is an important archeological site, since it used to be a Roman city back during the 3rd century BC. Here you can explore interesting Roman ruins such as streets, castles, houses and arches.

After we are done with Volubilis, we will continue straight to Meknes where we will get a thorough guided tour. Our visit will include the city’s cultural and historical monuments such as the gate of Bab Mansour, Dar El Jamai museum, the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, Sahrij Souani and more. You will get to experience the unique feeling of being in a traditional Moroccan Medina and walking through its streets.

DAY 2: MEKNES / AZROU / MIDELT / TODRA GORGES

This day of the Tangier desert tour, you will have a delicious Moroccan breakfast before we head out to our next destination for this tour: the Todra gorges. In order to get there, we will be driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains in our comfortable private car, which will allow you to appreciate all the scenery from mountains to rivers to scattered small villages.

We will stop by the beautiful Ifrane town, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco”, then at the cedar forests of Azrou in order to interact with the wild monkeys that live there. We will stop at the town of Midelt for lunch, before finally entering the High Atlas Mountains domain. After driving by many scattered Berber villages and enjoying the mountainous landscape, we will finally arrive at the Todra gorges where we will be spending the night at a luxury hotel.

DAY 3: TODRA GORGES / RISSANI / MERZOUGA “ERG CHEBBI”

Today on the Tangier desert tour, we will wake up in the middle of Todra’s beautiful nature, a site known for its 300 meters high gorges that attract people from all over the world. We can hike around the valley or simply walk along the Todra River, the experience will be just as interesting regardless.

After that, we will start driving along the Ziz valley and Erfoud town before arriving at Rissani where we will have lunch. You will get to try local delicacy called Medfouna, also known as “Berber pizza”.

We will then continue to our camp at Merzouga, where you can rest and relax for a while, before embarking on a camel trekking adventure. You will enjoy the scenery of the golden desert dunes while you’re riding on the back of a camel for as long as you need. Finally, we will return to the camp where dinner will be served, followed by a campfire and traditional live music.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA / ERFOUD / IFRANE / FES

This next morning of the Tangier desert tour, we will all wake up in time to admire the sun rising and casting her beautiful colors on the desert dunes, then we will return to Merzouga riding our camels once more. You can shower and have breakfast at the hotel, before we start driving to our final destination: Fes. We will first cross the magnificent Ziz valley and admire its gorges, before entering the Middle Atlas Mountains and driving through the Tizin Tlghamt pass.

After that, we will continue driving to Fes, with occasional stops to enjoy special views, such as the wild Macaque monkeys at the Azrou Cedar forests. Once we arrive at Fes, you will have dinner and spend the night at a traditional Riad.

DAY 5: FES “MEDINA GUIDE TOUR” / TANGER

For the last day of our Tangier desert tour, we will explore everything that the spiritual capital of Morocco has to offer. In fact, Fez was the first ever imperial city founded by an Islamic dynasty in Morocco, hence why it’s considered a spiritual and holy capital. We will walk through the narrow streets of Fes’ old Medina, in order to learn more about the traditions and customs of locals, and discover the wide range of artisanal products displayed by craftsmen.

Our tour will also include, the colorful Chouara leather tanneries, and a variety of buildings showcasing the finest Arabo-Islamic architecture. After having lunch, we will finally head back to Tangier where we will drop you off at your preferred accommodation.
