Overview Of The 11 Days Morocco Tour from Casablanca

Our 11 days Morocco tour from Casablanca is designed for travelers who want more than the classic desert route. First, you visit the Hassan II Mosque, then explore Rabat, Meknes, Volubilis and two full days in Fez. Next, you spend two nights in the golden dunes of Merzouga. Then, instead of taking the usual road, you follow the quiet southern route through Nkob to the palm groves of Zagora. Of all our Morocco tours from Casablanca, this is the only one that combines both deserts in a single 11 day Morocco itinerary, ideal for travelers who love wide open landscapes.

Kasbahs, Marrakech and the Ouzoud Waterfalls

After Zagora, you follow the Draa Valley north to Ait Ben Haddou and cross the High Atlas to Marrakech, where you spend three relaxed nights. Moreover, you take a day trip to the Ouzoud Waterfalls, the highest falls in Morocco. In other words, it is a complete Casablanca desert tour with culture, nature and city life. Because this is one of our private Morocco tours, planned by a local Morocco travel agency, your English-speaking driver adapts every day to you. As a result, you travel at your own pace, with plenty of time to rest.

After lunch in Midelt, you follow the palm-filled Ziz Valley south. At sunset, you ride a camel into the dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highlight of this Sahara desert tour. Once at camp, dinner is served under the stars. If you only want this part, see our 3 days tour from Fes to Merzouga.

Day 5: Free Day in the Sahara

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, a 4×4 takes you to Khamlia, where Gnawa musicians play rhythms that trace back to West Africa. Next, you visit a nomad family and share a glass of tea. Over tea, they explain how they live with very little water.

Later, you explore Rissani, the historic cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, and its busy market. In the afternoon, you can try sandboarding or simply relax in the silence of the dunes. Indeed, this free day makes your Casablanca desert tour truly special. Learn more on VisitMorocco’s Merzouga page.

Today, you take the quiet southern road that few tourists see. First, you stop in Alnif, famous for its trilobite fossils. Then, you continue through the volcanic landscapes of Jbel Saghro to Nkob, a village with dozens of old kasbahs. Along the way, the road crosses wide valleys where nomads still graze their goats.

In the late afternoon, you reach Zagora, the gateway to the Draa Valley and its famous palm groves. Here, you see a different desert, with small dunes and stony plains. In the evening, enjoy dinner under the palm trees. If you want this experience from Marrakech, see our Zagora desert trip.
